My boy makes me so happy :) I don't know how I ever got so lucky! I wish him the best in all the days to follow.

Don't forget the plan

Is it just me or can you relate? I know Heavenly Father has a plan for me; I don't usually forget that, but sometimes I forget to stop looking at only the future and think about the moment. Sometimes I forget that Heavenly Father not only has a plan for my life, but he has a plan for me today, too....

Pinpoint stars

Against a backdrop of black,

Like tiny little lights,

Each full of fire,

Glowing in my soul,

Warming the corners within.

Reaching with gentle fingers,

They caress my heart.

My thoughts resonate

With their soft, yellow glow.

In a stillness of peace,

Your eyes illuminate my smile

With their warm, glowing fire,

Like tiny, pinpoint stars

Against a backdrop so black.

The shadows stretched down the long, dirt road,

And the grass blew in the breeze.

The arch of leaves rustled overhead,

But it did not shake the trees.

Once in time I had taken steps,

Afraid to be alone,

But alas, I had had to move on,

Over the years as I'd grown.

I now turned around to face the path

That I had left behind.

Beautiful, yes, and full of life,

But of a different kind.

Temporary and simply "there"

Was how it most often had seemed,

But now vibrantly colored,

And blissfully lit by the sun that so faithfully gleamed.

Birds sang melodies I had never before heard.

There grew flowers I had never once seen.

It smelled the way a new rain does,

So crisply fresh and clean.

Then I realized I wasn't alone--

That you were with me too,

And only since you had crossed my path

Had I seen a different view.

Years lie in wait with experiences to be had,

And days that will pass quickly and go,

But, forever in time, I'll remember this path

Because of this person I know.

Thoughts of a random girl

After sitting with my family around the piano for hours today, singing songs of my Savior's sacrifice and his unfaltering love, I had a sudden realization!!
My poor future husband will have to be willing to sing with me on occassion when I miss this (almost) family ritual of singing around the piano lol.... Even when I'm sick and I can't reach the notes...I love the message of the music. For me, those are the times I feel the spirit most....and someday, when my family's not around to sing with me, and I miss those special moments, I'll need someone else to help me fill that spot.... :) Hahahaha, my poor husband.....
