Apartment adventures

All moved into our new apartment! While the first treated us well in that phase of life, this one is perfect for us in the present. It's a little bigger, much more open. Nicer and more relaxing. We're so happy with it!
It's only been a week since we moved and so much excitement has already happened!
First, while moving, our declawed cat got loose, RAN for it, climbed a tree (how does a cat with NO claws climb a tree?! Someone answer that for me..!), and in the nick of time, AS he was jumping over the fence into a neighbors backyard, the hubby leaped and managed to catch him by a handful of fur (and by the purest Irish luck available at this time of year...!). We called it a close call!
A few days later, we came home from work, late that night, to an overly hot apartment-- a whopping 100 F. degrees and steadily growing! We went to turn off the thermostat and it wouldn't turn off. AT ALL. We opened windows, and crossed our fingers that we wouldn't bake to death during the night, and did our best to get a little sleep. The next day, the handy man came and fixed it (or so we thought), and we went on with our business. That night while sleeping, we woke up to an overly heated apartment (AGAIN!). We all made it through the night (WHOO!) and they came back to mess with it some more in the morning. Knock on wood, but as of yet, it all seems to be running well. (Granted, now that it will actually turn off we've been keeping it off mostly...we're still a little apprehensive about actually turning it on and trusting it to turn back off when it's to temperature...).

So there you have it! Our new adventures for the week. We're still getting all the personal touches up around the house, however, it's quickly becoming home. :)
